Permanent Makeup & Vaccination

Updated: Aug 7, 2023

Are you planning to get a permanent makeup but need to get a vaccine (flu vaccine, covid or any) ? Then read this article.

Then have a read of this first:

It is advised that you should wait at least 2-3 weeks BEFORE and AFTER your dose. If you plan to have a second dose DO NOT GET a tattoo BETWEEN the two doses OR before the third shot and wait at least 2 weeks after the last one!

Vaccine is a much bigger strain on the immune system and your body needs time and strength to build immunity. During this your body is more alert and will react more aggressively to any changes or trauma

Tattooing triggers a response from your immune system and could weaken it , which might lead to complications and a strong reaction to the vaccine.

It's best to avoid any unnecessary stress. Everyone is different and reacts differently.

Some reactions include:

-intense swelling

-increased sensitivity during and after the procedure

-pigment rejection

Your body may try to get rid of the foreign substance ,(the pigments) meaning you may have poor pigment retention.

Brows- wait at least 2 weeks

Lips - wait at least 2-3 weeks

Eyeliner- wait at least 4 weeks

Please consider this when booking/re-booking your Cosmetic Tattoo appointment. If you are feeling unwell or sick, please stay home and let us know as soon as you can.
